Additional Information for Clinical • WBC Forms – sign and hand in today • RUH and SPH locker assignments • Use of PAWS email • Instructor notification re: clinical orientation • Communication with faculty and staff • Clinical Placements Webpage http://www.usask.ca/nursing/students/undergrad/clinical/ Please note: You must be registered in the correct clinical course prior to first day of clinical each term.

Year 4 – Overview of Clinical • Information session r/t 4th year program completion options and clinical placements • Late January/early February • Program Completion Options • Application needed for September Option – apply early March, after mid-term break • Placement process & opportunities similar for each completion option

APRIL 2012 Program Completion September 2010– April 2011 • complete 3rd year nursing courses September – December 2011 • NEPS 400.3 – Management • NEPS 417.3 – Issues • NEPS 427.3 & 428.3 – Partnerships with Community • Social Science, Open Elective • + any remaining non-nursing courses January – April 2012 • NEPS 421.6 and 425.6 – Senior Practica courses Licensure exams written in June 2012 Convocation in May/June 2012 at the U of S

December 2011 Program Completion January – April 2011 • Complete all 3rd year nursing courses + NEPS 417.3 • Statistics + Social Science .3 May - June 2011 • NEPS 400.3, 427.3 & 428.3 July – August 2011 • Complete any remaining non-nursing courses. September – December 2011 • NEPS 421.6 and 425.6 – Senior Practica courses Licensure exams written in February 2012 Convocation in May/June 2012 at the U of S

  12. Clinical Expereince Goal : Competent registered nurse who can provide thoughtful, safe, evidence-based client centered care as a member of a interprofessional team. What happens to those students who demonstrate unsafe practice? • Behaviors that indicate unsafe practice • Policies in place for faculty and students to refer to in relation to unsafe practice
