What was The use of the Aqueducts? • The Aqueducts were used too bring clean water from the “spring” down into the city. • The Aqueducts were also used as bridges to get over rivers.
How were the aqueducts built? • If you think that the aqueducts were just built like we build houses? well guess what! Your wrong they actually built them way, way different.
How were the aqueducts built? • The first step of building an Aqueduct was to use a tool called a “chorobates”. This made a sloping line which made the water go into the city, that way they would know where the water needs to flow, either below the ground in tunnels, on the surface in enclosed trenches or in pressurized pipes. • The next step was to build temporary bridge, which was built over a row of boats. Wooden stakes were then linked together in circles, and then were pounded into the riverbed. The liquid was then pumped away from that space.
When was the first Aqueduct built? The first aqueduct which is the Pont Du Gard which the Romans Constructed in the first century B.C. This is the Pont Du Gard. Constructed in the first century B.C.
