  1. "Integrating Perceptual Coding with Watermarking" Abstract There are a number of important properties that a watermark should exhibit. In many watermarking techniques the invisibility (perceptual transparency) is based on human visual/audio system. In this paper, I first outline the general scenario for message hiding and the desirable characteristics of digital watermarks. Then form a small number of watermarking application categories based on the several papers that have dealt with combining perceptual coding with watermarking and briefly discuss their advantage and limitation and analyse one paper from these categories in more details.
