  2. The American Civil War began on April 12, 1861, with the Confederate forces attacking a U.S. Military installation at Force Gumter in South Carolina, and ended on April 9, 1865, with the Union forces emerging victorius

  3. Presidents, Leaders Abraham Lincoln was the U.S president during the American Civil War, and the leader of the North. Jefferson Davis was the leader of the South.

  4. Causes The reasons for the Civil War to start were aplenty, and virtually all of them revolved around the concept of slavery in the United Sates. Given below are the three main reasons which will give you why did the American Civil War start: Attempts to Abolish of Slavery Economic Divide Between the North and South Election of President Abraham Lincoln

  5. Consequences There are so many consequences but we are going to mention some of them: About 630,000 soldiers died The union of the states was preserved. Reconstruction of the South began and it sowed the seeds of the future racial conflict for over a century to come. Racial prejudices in the South increase rather than decreased.
