  2. Dallas Museum Of Art The Museum's collections include more than 23,000 works of art from around the world ranging from ancient to modern times. They are housed in the $20 million Hamon Building collection and include the Wendy and Emery Reves Collection, along with vast African, Contemporary and decorative art pieces.

  3. Crow Collection Of Asian Art Trammell and Margaret Crow bought their first piece of Asian art in the mid-1960s, and from that initial purchase has evolved a distinguished collection featuring pieces from China, Japan, India and Southeastern Asia, spanning 3500 B.C. to the early 20th century. The Trammell and Margaret Crow Collection of Asian Art opened to the general public as a permanent museum in December 1998, at 2010 Flora in the Arts District of downtown Dallas.

  4. Winspear Opera House With a steel-frame canopy stretching well beyond its performance hall, the Winspear Opera House reaches out to other constituents of the AT&T Performing Arts Center. As designed by Foster + Partners, the building reflects the values of Bill Winspear, the Canadian-born entrepreneur who donated $43 million to the approximately $150 million project to share his passion for music with as many people as possible and make sure the hall’s acoustics would be excellent. Certainly, the second goal has been realized, and the opera house’s design encourages the first.

  5. Wyly Theatre Center  The Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre will be one of the world's most innovative theatre facilities. The 12-level building will feature a groundbreaking design with an unprecedented "stacked," vertically organized facility that completely rethinks the traditional form of theatre. The Wyly Theatre was designed by REX/OMA, Joshua Prince-Ramus (partner in charge) and Pritzker Prize-winning architect RemKoolhaas.

  6. Epa Headdress Dallas Museum Of Art: The Epa headdress is used in the Yoruba Epa festival celebrating the important social roles of a town and its people. The headdress is worn at the climax of the week-long festival whose purpose is to reinforce the structure of the community. In the Epa festival, men perform the ceremony with large headdresses carved from wood, in honor of Epa, the male deity who was a wood carver. His cult was limited to the Northern Yoruba people. The headdress is not just a work of art, but also a representation of the very practical nature of the Yoruba spiritual system.

  7. Dancing Krishna The Crow Collection Of Art: This beautifully cast image depicts Krishna in his most popular form as a young boy dancing joyfully and holding his right hand in a gesture indicating “Have no fear.”

  8. Transparency Glass Winspear Opera House: The Annette and Harold Simmons Signature Glass Façade wraps around the building, creating a transparency between the opera house and the surrounding Performance Park. An 84-foot (26 m) wide section of the glass façade is retractable to a height of 23 feet (7.0 m), literally opening up the Grand Lobby, Cafe and Box Circle-level Restaurant to Performance Park.

  9. Theatre Chairs Wyly Theatre Center: The chairs are designed to be easily removable and offer a simple and efficient storage concept, which allows for maximum space flexibility on the theatre’s flat floor. Ganged together or fixed to the floor, various different settings can be created.

  10. To All Sixth Graders(: Dear Soon To Be Seventh Graders, Well, I enjoyed the field trip because it was a nice break from finishing the TAKS. We’ve went to a whole lot of magnificent places like the Dallas Museum Of Art, Crow Collection Of Art, Winspear Opera House, & Wyly Theatre Center. The Dallas Museum Of Art had a lot of amazing paintings, sculptures, etc. The Crow Collection Of Asian Art had some sculptures made up of jade; they were so beautiful. My favorite place Winspear Opera House because I loved the glass that looked red from the inside but wasn’t. Last but not least & also my other favorite place was the Wyly Theater because the theatre can come apart & you can also transform it into all sorts of ways; it also can be open from all the windows & walls. I also loved there green chairs! P.S. Don’t forget to bring your cameras & turn the flashes off! Sincerely, Your Friend(:
