  1. #WhySufferSilently About The Campaign

  2. What is the #WhySufferSilently Campaign about? The taboos surrounding menstruation mean that a large majority of adolescent girls are forced to accept an extremely conservative narrative on menstruation, without the freedom to question it. Adolescent girls are expected to silently suffer extreme cramping, pain, nausea, mood swings and other health problems that are wrongly labelled as ‘normal’, thus eliminating their options to seek treatment. As a result, today dysmenorrhea (painful periods) is the most common, yet the most under-reported gynaecological problem in India.

  3. Our Mission is to reach out to all adolescent girls & young women in the country to: • Spread awareness about the symptoms and causes of dysmenorrhea • Educate them on understanding the severity of their period pain • Help them take charge of their life by seeking the right treatment

  4. How can you help?: We need your support to achieve our mission. You can help by: • Sharing our social media posts within your social media network and WhatsApp groups • Printing and distributing our educational material in your school / college / office • Pasting our posters in the girls washroom of your school / college • Pasting our posters in the women’s washroom of your office
