    1. Liver Roulette Who gets the liver? GRASPS

    2. Goal Your task is to generate criteria for liver transplants. understand some of the factors surrounding organ transplants.

    3. Role You are a member of a task force who decides on liver transplant recipients.

    4. Audience You will present your group’s decision on the candidate to receive the liver and the criteria used to make this decision to the regional organ transplant center.

    5. Situation

    6. Product - Performance Your team needs to develop a list of at least five point-based criteria in a rubric which will be used to determine which of the five ill patients is the recipient of Woody’s liver. You will then need to present your decision to the class and explain why you chose your particular candidate.

    7. Standards for Success You will be graded on the following: Presentation depicting a point-based rubric which would determine the recipient of the liver. A position essay explaining the bioethical issues raised by liver transplants. A completed internet scavenger hunt on liver function and organ transplants. Positive participation in two of the classroom activities: the initial activity and the jigsaw activity.
