Aims of the Study • Examining whether the Faith Centre meets the spiritual needs of its users • Producing an evaluative report for the Faith Centre • Establishing links between TRS and the NHS • Exploring the importance of space set aside for religious/reflective purposes in a public institution

  4. The project so far... • Produced thorough research design required for ethical approval • Organised and ran a focus group • Researched the planning and early development of the Faith Centre • Produced 3,000 word report describing the Faith Centre • Drafted and reviewed consent forms, notification posters and participant information sheets

  5. Rewards of the project • Valuable research experience and training • Interviewing, running focus groups, ethics, ethnography • Making links between the NHS and the TRS department • Awareness of opportunities for research • Networking – fellow research scholars, academics

  6. How can I get involved in research? • Find out about research opportunities in your department • Working independently • Enthusiasm and curiosity – subject area, and learning new skills • Draw on existing academic/research skills • Interviewing, organisation, independence, originality
