Devices to use in writing: Balance • Powerful/cleverly chosen words • Formal & informal to suit audience • Alliteration • Sensory details: 4 or 5 • Triples/repetition • Rhetorical questions • Puns/jokes/humour • Imagery: personification/similes/metaphors • Second person (you…) • Stats & facts • Onomatopoeia (nice sounding words) • Whatever you think your AUDIENCE wants!
