Purpose • We are here today to talk about the youth leadership training that NYLN will be providing for Partners.
About Us • The National Youth Leadership Network is a national non-profit organization run by and for youth with disabilities. • We work to build power and community with disabled youth. We also work to build the capacity of our allies. • We are a membership-led organization. Our Governing Board and committees do, and are responsible, for the majority of our work.

Let’s Get the Power! • Dates: March 22, 23, 29 and 30 at 3- 5 pm EST • 2 hour trainings via webinar and phone • Designed to get young people and their allies thinking about how young people can have authentic voice and power within the organization • Approach is on systemic power and how to create change within our relationships
Training Flow • Individual Experience (self) • The Context of our experiences (society) • What people have been doing to change the context (movement) • What we can change (organization)
Tools • Storytelling and examination of stories • An introduction to the Disability History Movement – what is our story? • Power and privilege dynamics within organizations • Nuts and bolts of cross disability organizing, focus on accessibility • Examination of values
