The U.S. enters the war… • They believe the war was a conflict of old European rivalries. • By 1917, the U.S. was suspicious of German intentions and angered by the sinking of U.S. citizens and property. • Once Germany said that they would openly attack any ships in the North Atlantic, the U.S. declared war on the triple alliance.
The Russian Revolution • Russia had not properly equipped or trained their soldiers, as a result they were being beaten by the Germans. Germany was in danger of being swallowed up by Russia’s superior numbers.
