5. D is for DVDs! Developed in 1995, DIGITAL VERSATILE DISCs replaced VHS and became the most popular and most dominant disc and player for watching home media. 6. E is for E-readers! This is a handheld device used for reading electronic books and periodicals. Downloading books are quick as ever and books cost about half of what they are in hardcover. Using electronic paper, e-readers that display text looks like actuall text on printed paper. 8. G is for GPS! The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a space-based satellite navigation system that provides location and time information in all weather, anywhere on or near the Earth, where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites. 9. H is for Hairdryer! A blow-dryer or hairdryer is an electromechanical device designed to blow cool or hot air over wet or damp hair, in order to accelerate the evaporation of water particles and dry the hair. Blow-dryers allow to better control the shape and style of hair, by accelerating and controlling the formation of temporary hydrogen bonds inside each strand. 11. J is for Joysticks! A joystick is an input device consisting of a stick that pivots on a base and reports its angle or direction to the device it is controlling. They are often used to control video games, and usually have one or more push-buttons whose state can also be read by the computer. Joysticks are also used for controlling machines such as cranes, trucks, underwater unmanned vehicles, wheelchairs, surveillance cameras and zero turning radius lawn mowers. 12. K is for Keyboard! In computing, a keyboard is a typewriter-style keyboard, which uses an arrangement of buttons or keys, to act as mechanical levers or electronic switches. In normal usage, the keyboard is used to type text and numbers into a word processor, text editor or other program.
13. L is for LCD Tvs! Liquid-crystal display televisions are tv sets that are used to produce images on a TV. 14. M is for MP3 Players! It’s a portable device used for listening to music, displaying pictures, and watching videos. If you want to listen to music on the go, then an MP3 makes it easier for you. 15. N is for the Nook Color! The Nook Color is a color version of the Nook e-reader device by Barnes & Noble. It is a 7-inch tablet with full-color multitouch touchscreen input. The device is designed for full-color viewing of books, newspapers, magazines, and children's picture books. A limited number of the children's books available for the Nook Color include interactive animations and the option to have a professional voice actor read the story.
16. O is for Operating Systems! An operating system (OS) is a set of programs that manage computer hardware resources and provide common services for application software. The operating system is the most important type of system software in a computer system. 18. Q is for Quasar! Quasar is a North American brand of electronics, first used by Motorola in 1967 for a model line of transistorized color televisions. Other popular uses include security surveillance and computer vision and there are also uses on sites like video broadcasting services and for recording social videos .
