  1. Energy can be found in a number of different forms. It can be chemical energy, electricalenergy, heat (thermal energy), light (radiantenergy), mechanical energy (kinetic energy), and nuclear energy. The Law of Conservation of Energy Energy is converted from one form to another, but it is never created or destroyed.

  2. Energy transformation is the change in energy form. Nuclear energy is converted to mechanical energy and then into electrical energy in a nuclear power plant. Gasoline, chemical energy, is converted to heat energy & mechanical energy by a car.

  3. Mechanical energy is converted into thermal energy when you bounce a ball Before bouncing After bouncing

  4. Solar Cell Chemical Energy  Heat & light energy What kind of energy transformations are shown in the following pictures? Solar energy (light energy)  Chemical Energy Chemical energy  Mechanical Energy Wind energy  Mechanical Energy Solar energy (light energy)  Electrical Energy

  5. Which of the following can be used to transform chemical energy into heat energy? A. A windmill turning Answer: B B. lighting a match C. solar panels D. a light bulb
