Audio Visual Coordinator

As an Audio Visual Coordinator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating equipment for live shows, conferences, and exhibitions. You will also use video cameras and maintain and repair equipment used in multimedia production. Creativity, flexibility, and strong communication skills are essential. A high school diploma or associate degree in audio visual technology is often required. Salary ranges from $43,003 to $60,000 per year.

Duties • setting up equipment in line with job instructions given by event organizers, exhibition designers • operating equipment and controls during rehearsals, live shows, conferences and exhibitions • use video cameras to shoot images or serve as projectionists • maintain and repair equipment used to enhance live events, such as microphones, video recorders, projectors, lighting and sound mixing equipment • May also serve as Dj's for live events,fashion shows. • They may record meetings and presentations with video cameras, operate spotlights, adjust amplifiers, coordinate graphics used in displays and provide technical support for teleconferences

Abilities & personal qualities • must be able to transport, assemble, maintain and repair equipment used in multimedia production • Knowledge of camera and lighting techniques is essential, and familiarity with editing equipment and software may be required. • must be creative and flexible with strong communication skills and the ability to interact with coworkers and clients, often under deadline pressure • must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time and must have good hearing and eyesight

  4. Education • Many employers require Audio Visual Coordinators to have a high school diploma or GED, or an associate degree in audio visual technology, or a related field, such as digital media. Some employers may prefer a bachelor's degree in journalism, broadcasting or communications.

Salary,locations,and availability • job growth of 24% for audio and video equipment technicians is predicted throughout the 2006-2016 decade. • There are many jobs in the audio/visual aspect of fashion from actual tech to lighting to music it all depends on your personal interest. • Moving to areas such as LA and New york witch hold large events would be the best place for an audio visual coordinator. • Salary- about $43,003-$60,000 a year
