Adjectives are words that describe or modify another person or thing in the Sentence (Noun Determiner).
Explanation of Adjectives The Royal Order of Adjectives • Determiners: articles and other limiters. (the computer, your hat). • Observation: beautiful, interesting, a real idol, an inexpensive toy. (can also be an opinion). • Size and Shape: thin, fat, round, wealthy, large. • Age: ancient, new, old, young. • Color: blue, white, pink, purple. • Origin: American, Swedish, Canadian. • Material: wooden, metallic, silk, cotton, woolen. This describes what something is made of. • Qualifier: last adjective used. Often an integral part of a noun. Book cover, rocking chair, wedding gown, hunting lodge.
Examples of ADJECTIVE + noun If you use two adjectives from the same category, you would use a comma to separate them. For instances: The actor wore a sequin, beaded dress YuniShara is a beautiful, smart woman • “The words sequin and beaded both come from the “materials” category of adjectives” • “The words beautiful and smart both from the “observation” category of adjectives If you use adjectives from different categories you would not need to use a comma.
