  3. In the time of Music History Slavery • Sold to South American landowners • Very timid and quiet • Built drums for native land rhythms • Began the movement of Samba (huge symbol of Brazil) Slaves become free • Fled to Rio de Janeiro • Took over streets with Samba • Ended in 1888
