Army National Guard Incentives FY08 • Special Pay (formerly known as Bonus) – Accession and Retention • Health Professionals Loan Repayment Program (HPLRP) • Assistant Student Recruiter Program • Medical & Dental School Stipend Program (MDSSP) • Specialized Training Assistance Program (STRAP) • STRAP • STRAP BSN • Medical & Dental School Stipend Program (MDSSP) • & Dental School Stipend Program (MDSSP)

  3. Special Pay - Accession • $25K/year for 3 years: All Medical Corps and Dental Corps professions on Critical Wartime Shortage List • $20K/year for 3 years: Physician Assistants • $10K/year for 3 years: Nurses (Co Grade), Aeromedical Evacuation, Physical Therapist, Social Workers, and Clinical Psychologist

  4. Special Pay – Retention For officers with up to MRD (provided specialty remains on Critical Wartime Shortage List)*: • $25K/year: All Medical Corps and Dental Corps specialties on Critical Wartime Shortage List • $20K/year for 3 years: Physician Assistants • $10K/year: Nurses (Co Grade), Aeromedical Evacuation, Physical Therapist, Social Workers, and Clinical Psychologist * Pending requested change to DoDI 1205.21 (if requested change is not approved officers up to 19 years of commissioned service)

  5. Health Professional Loan Repayment Program (HPLRP) • $50K lifetime cap ($20K a year) • Medical and Dental students and graduates • All AOCs on Critical Wartime Shortage List with the exception of Aeromedical Evacuation pilots

  6. STRAP/MDSSP • Specialized Training Assistance Program • ($1907.00 per month) • All Medical Corps and Dental Corps specialties on Wartime Critical Shortage List (during Residency) • STRAP for BSN (Nurses) • New accessions Diploma Nurses and current AN Corps officers w/out BSN • Medical & Dental Student Stipend Program • ($1907.00 per month) • All Medical and Dental School students qualify • Cannot be taken at same time as the Assistant Student Recruiter Program but can be taken during 4th year of Medical School

  7. Assistant Student Recruiter (ASR) • Medical, Dental, Physician Assistant Students • Cannot participate while taking MDSSP • Serve as a student recruiter for up to 3 years • 2LT Active Duty Pay • ($2,555.70 Base Pay) • Basic Housing Allowance (Based on school loc) • Basic Allowance for Subsistence ($202.76/mo)
