Steps to raise Quality and Aesthetics to Global Standard • Make quality and aesthetic improvement as common objective with foundry • Define your quality and aesthetic needs - Grade and metallurgy requirements - Casting soundness requirement as per your required std. • Keep a track of developments in related fields, update knowledge base • Train OEM team on foundry practice and methodology • Review defects jointly with casting supplier monthly or quarterly

Good Practices from other INDUSTRIES • Machine manufacturer should give fundamental idea of machine operation to casting supplier, where their casting is going to be used • OEM should also share their experience of casting problems • Prepare list of requirements with graphical presentation to convey it to foundry man • Ask supplier to confirm minimum quality requirements prior to dispatch. • Give and share first article report to foundry - Dimension deviation - Machining allowances etc to avoid rejection in future • Put efforts to make “Made in India” Brand more meaningful and successful
