2014 Data -- Book Reviews Outputs Outcomes Reading: 88% of said they will read more books because they participated in summer reading in this manner. Comprehension: 76% said that participating will make it easier for them to read books in school in the coming year. Learning: 85% said that they learned something new through the books they read. Gathered from evaluation forms submitted by parents and teens . • 4,689 book reviews were submitted.
2014 Data – Book Clubs Outputs Outcomes Reading: 63% of youth who participated said this experience inspired them to read more. Comprehension: 85% said they remembered what happened in the book they read and could answer questions at the club and 88% asked or answered questions. • 2,821 patrons attended 354 book clubs.
2014 Data -- Events Outputs Outcomes Reading: 56% of youth who attended a library event said they will read more books because they attended the event. Learning: 94% of youth who participated in an art or STEM-related event planned to learn more about the event’s topic by reading a book, doing a related project at home or finding info on the internet. 75% who participated in a reading event learned something new and 72% could articulate one thing they learned. • 1,190 programs were attended by 34,475 patrons.
2014 Data -- Website Outputs Outcomes Reading: 70% of youth who participated in the website said doing so made them want to read more books. Comprehension: 52% of youth who participated in the website said doing so will make it easier to read books in the coming school year. Learning:48% of youth who participated in the website learned or tried something new because of their participation. • 306 patrons participated in the online program.
