  18. 17, Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association of Nigeria (WISTA) WISTA-Nigeria improves the livelihood of women who work in the informal sector. e.g. fishing: by donating fishing boats and nets for them. WISTA-Nigeria has a vibrant membership drawn from the public and private sectors and has successfully utilized this brilliant initiative to introduce the great WISTA to other African counties such as South-Africa, Ghana, Republic of Togo and Namibia. WISTA came into being on the 11th, November, 1994 using the blue print of WISTA International (United Kingdom).
