  2. FOUNDER Stanley H. Kaplan, who invented the test preparation industry when he founded the company in 1938, passed away in August 2009 at the age of 90. Mr. Kaplan’s passion for providing individuals with the tools for academic and career success has served as the foundation for the company’s mission and values for over 70 years.
