2018 Accomplishments • Branding effort completed • Created Educational Video Series • Hired Associate Planner • Improved Budget preparation and supporting documentation; maintained flat tax rate • Long Term Plan update – pay as you go approach • Hosted Development Forum and other educational meetings as resources for the Council, Commissions and public • Completed Residential District Zoning Code update- effort that includes developers, builders, Planning Commission and City Council • Grant awards • Dayton Parkway Interchange: award of State bond funds; coordination with MNDOT through the TAC; manage selection process for preferred alternative; management of Benefit Study and Financing Plan • Began work on updates to Personnel Policy update
2018 Accomplishments • 11 Planning Commission meetings • Development review Applications: • Number of Planning Applications by type: 3 variance applications, 4 CUP applications, 5 IUP, 4 easement vacations, 3 comp plan amendments apps, 5 rezoning apps, 1 text amendment app, 6 concept plan reviews, 4 pre-plats, 4 PUDs, 10 final plats • Hosted 3 open house events on new developments • Senior Needs Assessment – Surveyed over 100 people 55+, focus group with 30 people • Zoning Ordinance Updates: Accessory buildings, fences, residential design standards, tree preservation, landscaping, Industrial and Commercial IUPs; billboards, Home-occupation
2018 Accomplishments • Implementation of new Finance software • 2018 Primary and General Elections- 300 absentee voters into City Hall and a 78% voter turnout • Progress on scanning older documents, Started implementation of new document management software • Cross training on payroll • Coordinated student help in the summer months • Managed ever increasing amount of utility billing customers and customer service • 111% increase in five years; increasing annually • Monthly calls increasing

2020 Outlook • Manage three elections – March, August, November • No new hires within city hall; adjust grades • Major construction projects-Dayton Parkway Interchange; Pineview/Oakview Lane (intersection) Zanzibar Lane • Complete market study/corridor plan (SW Dayton) • Zoning updates in SW Dayton • Comp Plan Implementation (zoning updates) • Continued improvement to communication including social media; use of website; etc.
