Gary Hall – • Program Development Manager, U16’s Assistant Coach: • New England Revolution Academy • Gary began his coaching career for the Sunderland AFC Academy community programs. • Also a coach at the Premier Club Level in the North East region, Gary has coached teams through several state championships, and other regional and national tournaments. • A 2001 graduate of Newcastle College, Gary holds his UEFA "C" License and received a Goalkeeping Certification from the English Football Association. A former Darlington F.C. Professional Academy youth player, Gary played at the Semi-Professional Level in the North East Regional Leagues of England.

Details • Coaches Responsibilities - Communication • Work through Age Group coordinator • Set example for SYS • Zero tolerance for misconduct/behavior / bullying • Parent Meeting – Day 1 • Contact information – Emergency list always • Keep score differential under 6 • Any score differential in excess require review with the Age Group Coordinator and possible further action by the Board. • Make certain every player is picked up before you go home • Bad Weather • Thunder and Lightning (at first sound or sight off the field, can not return until 30 minutes after last sound or sight!)
Playing Time A child must play at least one half of each regulation game.

Game Day • Game Day Rosters • Must bring 2 signed / approved rosters • Must have player shirt number • All coaches need pass cards
MAYSL - FINES Please be careful not to incur any fines These can be related to: • Improper Rosters • Improper Passcards • Forfeits • Running up the score
Rescheduling U10 – U18 games: Contact: David Rocco: Game Re-scheduler Jorge Deleon: Referee Assignor Process: • It is the responsibility of the Home coach to initiate the process • Submit a request via SYS website (under ‘Coaches’ then ‘Reschedule’ ) to initiate the process • Include a rationale for the reschedule and your requested date of the reschedule (after confirming with opposing coach) • Requests are typically confirmed within 48-72 hours
Rescheduling U10 – U18 games: Per MAYS By-Laws, valid reasons for requesting a re-schedule are limited to: • Rainout of a scheduled game • School event (e.g. St. Johns entrance exam) • Religious event Note: Having a low number of players available (e.g. due to Columbus Day holiday) is not considered a valid rationale for a re-schedule by MAYS Additionally: • Requests for re-scheduling due to rainouts must be submitted within (2) weeks after rainout and must be played within (4) weeks of the rainout • Requests due to school or religious events must be submitted within 1 week after the start of the season.

Equipment • Players • NO Jewelry, Casts, Hair Beads, or Splints • Knee/Elbow Pads must have protective padding • Shin guards are a must • Cleats are highly recommended

Fields • Move the Goals for Practice – U10 / U12 ADJUST THE SANDBAGS • Field Closings are posted on the website • Field Status • Updated at 3pm weekday • Updated at 7am weekends • MAYSL has to be notified two hours before game start if not it is a referee decision. Only an official SYS Representative can call for a rain cancellation.
TROPHIES • Trophies are prohibited unless earned in a non SYS hosted tournament and awarded by the tournament
