MWS are ready to launch their products on the market. They plan the following: A launch event attended by the press which requires A press release A product brochure A presentation by the owners Invitations An agenda to include: arrival, departure, demonstration of the web site and the customisation process, presentation, hands on demos, tour of the facilities,, Invitations will be sent to the local press, the chamber of commerce and the local retailers of phones Scenario
Before preparing the documents • Who are the audience and what are their characteristics? • What would motivate the invitees to attend? • In what order should the events take place? • Who is going to be invited? • How many will come? • Can they all fit in each event? • Should the invitations be customised? • Hold a team meeting (witnessed) to answer these questions
Document your answers • Write these up as a team • Make sure each team member has them
Prepare the documents • A press release • Embargo • Quotations from owners • Facts and figures • A product brochure • Double sided A4, colour, illustrated • A presentation by the owners • Maximum 10 slides with speakers’ notes • (You do not have to give the presentation) • Invitations • An agenda
Additional criteria • M3 Present and communicate appropriate findings • a range of methods of presentation have been used and technical language has been accurately used • the communication is appropriate for familiar and unfamiliar audiences and appropriate media have been used
