It’s A Family Affair • Research has suggested that parental involvement does increase student’s achievement at school by affecting the students’ attitude, and attendance. • This year Addam Memorial Middle School is committed to increasing parental involvement.

Home Learning Recipes • Students and their families are to locate 5 to 10 food items that are common to their household.
Home Learning Recipes • Next, the students must record the nutritional facts of each item.
Home Learning Recipes • Once all of the nutritional facts are recorded, the students must plot the different nutritional facts on a graph.
A Family Affair! • The students and their family need to sit down and plan at least 2 different family meal plans (complete dinner which includes an entrée, side items, and dessert). The plan should include total cost
A Family Affair! • Once the two meals are plan, the students need to compare the nutritional values of each meal by investigating the ingredients online. • Finally, plot the nutritional values of both meals and price.
Let’s Spice it Up! • Now let’s alter the recipes by doubling the ingredients with meal plan #1. • The second meal plan decrease the ingredients by ¼. • Now plot these changes and the alter prices for both meals.
Summary • Its time for the educational world to meet our community! • Each student is required to select several food items that is common to their family. • Research and plot the nutritional facts of the selected items • Design two typical family meal, alter the meals and plot the financial difference as well as the nutritional values
