  2. The Basis of Belief 2 Peter 1:16-21 What is truth? Every human behavior is ultimately guided by what that man and woman believes to be true Is your perception of what is true in accordance with reality or are you believing lies?

  3. The Basis of Belief 2 Peter 1:16-21 Truth is vital to physical existence for to believe incorrectly can result serious injury or even death. Truth is even more vital to your spiritual existence and well being than to your physical

  4. Introduction What is life all about? What will happen when you die? Where will you spend eternity? Why do you believe you will get there? How do you know what you believe is correct?

  5. Review 2 Peter 1:1-15 Peter desires his readers to increase in grace and peace - which happens as we know God better God has already provided what we need to live in godliness by His divine power and precious promises

Eyewitnesses2 Peter 1:16-19 Peter & others were eye witnesses of what he has reported about Jesus Christ Matthew 17:1-8 - the Transfiguration (see also Mark 9:1-8 & Luke 9:28-36) Truth is established in the mouth of two or three witnesses – Deut. 19:15 John was also an eye witness of the transfiguration & Jesus’ life - 1 John 1:1-4

  24. Conclusions Finite man cannot comprehend an infinite God, but the Bible gives man a vast and adequate revelation which contains all that God wants man to know presently The Bible is God’s word, it is truth

  25. Conclusions What are you doing with the Bible? Are you a student of it or are you distracted by the world’s enticements and deceptions?
