  4. Infectious Disease When a group of people share a common illness. This illness is passed between the people and is shared through contact.

  5. Plantation Area of land where one single crop is grown. A large workforce is needed to produce this crop.

  6. Legacy Something that is passed down through generations of people.

  7. Spreading of disease When Columbus, other Europeans and Africans came to the ‘New World’ they unknowingly brought diseases and gave them to the Native Americans, who had no immunity to the illness.

  8. Critical Thinking:What is Immunity, and Why would the Native Americans lack of immunity be a problem?How do we deal with this issue today?
