Invitation to Costa Rica • The following sophomore majors: • Biological Sciences • Gateway • Environmental • June 10th, registration will open up to ALL students • 85% or above GPA • No dean’s record • ****Passports required! Must be valid through January 2, 2016****
Trip Leader gets a free cell phone. Access to 24 hour hotline. • Centrally located 3 or 4 star hotels • Double the budget towards meals • Less layovers
Day 1 Arrival to San Jose, Costa Rica.
Day 2: Braulio Carrillo National Park, Riverboat to Tortuguero • Waterfalls • Braulio Carrillo National Park: Research facility • Tropical plants • Animals: birds, armadillos, sloths, crocodiles • Riverboat to Tortuguero National Park
Day 3: Excursion along the Tortuguero National Park Canals • Riverboat • Nesting site for the green turtle and hawksbills, loggerheads and the giant leatherbacks.
Day 4: Travel to the Arenal Volcano area, Tabacon Hot Springs • ArenalVolcano National Park • Tabacon Hot Springs
Day 5: Travel to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve • A local guide will accompany your group at the Monteverde Biological Reserve. • Sky tram for the scenic ride up the mountain. • Sky Trek Add-on (+$80)
Day 6: Carara Biological Reserve, Jaco Beach • Tarcoles(Crocodile) Bridge • CararaBiological Reserve • Macaws, parrots, monkeys and sloths. • Barbecue dinner at Jaco Beach
Day 7: Excursion to Manuel Antonio National Park, Jaco Beach • Manuel Antonio National Park • Hike up to Cathedral Point
Price of Trip: $2519.00 Price is for enrollment by JUNE 15th! Cost Includes: • 7 overnight stays in centrally located 3 or 4 star hotels with private bathrooms • Full time tour escort • Round-trip flights and transfers • Private motor coach with a full-time tour-director • Breakfast and dinner daily (days 2-7), three lunches • Boat rides, entrances fees to parks, etc. • Complimentary Overseas Medical Insurance: • Medical expenses, Emergency evacuation, Extended hospitalization, Overseas assistance, Baggage, Baggage delay, Trip interruption
How to Enroll • Find your enrollment guide. • Read, understand and agree with the terms and conditions. • Log onto Passports.com • Select: Login/Enroll from the participants menu • ***Name on Passports.com must match your actual passport (full name, middle initial, etc.)*** • Enter your Tour ID: KLOVELETT2015-2 • This is also on the front cover of your itinerary • You will be asked whether or not you would like TravelPak + Plus ($249)
How to Enroll • Make a deposit: THREE options: • Pay $95 deposit with E-Z Pay • Monthly amount (~$185) taken from checking. Extends final payment deadline to June 6, 2015. • Fill out authorization, send voided check • Invoices will be mailed to you monthly • Pay $495 deposit by credit card (or $744 with TravelPak Plus) +$25 service fee • Only time a credit card can be used. • Receive a convenience bill. Must paid in full by April 1, 2015. • Pay $495 (or $744 with TravelPakPlus) by check via mail • Receive a convenience bill. Must paid in full by April 1, 2015. Make checks payable to: PASSPORTS STUDENT DEPOSITORY ACCOUNTS. Write your username in the memo portion of the check.
Dates to Remember • June 10th: Trip will be open to ALL students to enroll • June 15th: $100 enrollment discount deadline • April 1, 2015: Final payment for non E-Z Pay users • June 6, 2015: Final payment for E-Z Pay users • July 6, 2015: Departure
