Requirements • Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 Server running IIS 5.0/6.0 • Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 to host the Database • Buying/Registering a Domain name.
Components of DevInfo Deployment • 2 components for installation : • Database • Web
Installation Procedures Create a blank SQL Database Create an SQL login user Grant this user write access rights to the Database Convert your Access DB to MS SQL DB using the DX Access remote.exe tool and upload it to the SQL blank Database created earlier Install IIS and ASP.net on your Windows webserver Install DevInfo6 Web Assign full rights to ASP.net user on the DevInfo Web directory Amend the file “web.config” to reflect the new Database
Installing DevInfo 6 Web • Go to http://www.devinfo.org • Download DevInfo web setup • Extract the file • Run the setup.exe
Customizing the website • Copy and replace the images located in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\DI6web\images\adaptation\homepage\view\slideshow • Images size should be 268x323 pixels(widthxheight) • Replace the file “slideshow.swf” located in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\DI6web\images\adaptation\homepage\view
