  2. Welcome to Mid-Willamette Online Education Program. Your local Mid-Willamette school districts are pleased to expand their educational offerings to meet all student’s educational needs in their communities. This program is designed to be accessed at home via your own personal computers as well as allow participation in classes at your local school, in your community, and from other local professional avenues. We know you have a strong interest and investment in your young adult’s education and would like to have as much input and flexibility as possible, encouraging a well-rounded, college-ready, graduate who has had the opportunities to explore a variety of future options. As with all online programs, changes will continuously take place and offerings updated. Participating students may choose to earn a diploma from their own district’s school or from McMinnville School District, as long as they fulfill the necessary requirements. A local online program provides Mid-Willamette students: • Access to a Highly Qualified teacher to help online or in person. • Access to a computer lab for tutorial help when needed. • Ability to control their own school times and educational pacing. • Opportunity to design their own educational plan. • Access to a reputable, rigorously designed, online curriculum. • A diploma from their home school district.   3. All students must enroll and register in McMinnville High School. They can still opt to receive a diploma from their home school once they are ready to graduate. • All students must have: • A personal computer, iPad, laptop, or other technology device that can access the internet. • Internet • Word Office 2010 • A printer. • An available parent who can act as an education coach or mentor. • A willing and pleasant attitude, ready to achieve educational goals to prepare for a successful future. Whenever an assignment can be completed and sent electronically it should. Not only does electronic submissions protect our environment, but it also continues to improve student’s technological skills. Registration Requirements

  5. Graduation Requirements Standard Diploma Students participating in MSD Online Education will graduate with a McMinnville High School Pathway Diploma which requires 27 high school credits. During the Junior year, students may opt out of the Pathway Diploma track and request the McMinnville Basic Diploma which requires 24 high school credits. Basic Diploma Students who desire a diploma from their home district, please refer to the graduation requirements for your district. Your graduation plan will reflect those requirements. A Credit Retrieval and GED Program are also available for those who fit the requirements.

Students will be given a high school graduation plan. • Students will be expected to complete 2-4 hours of academic study or 4 submissions 5 days a week in addition to their elective classes. • Teachers will monitor time on online classes. • Teachers will monitor amount of work completed online. • Based on this monitoring, students will be placed on a level that reflects their progress. • Students are expected to maintain a Level 3 or 4. Level 2 indicates that the student is struggling with online work and discipline. Level 1 indicates that the student is being unsuccessful in this program and their graduation date is at risk.
