Jefferson’s Foreign Policy • Really wanted no alliances 1. Not possible due to: a. trade w/ nations b. desire to expand west c. other countries pulling us in

4. Tecumseh & Native Americans • British were stirring up Native American resistance B. Tecumseh, a Shawnee chief called for tribes to unite
4. Tecumseh & Native Americans C. Treaty of Fort Wayne gave USA 3 million acres of Native American land 1. Tecumseah said “NO WAY” 2. Tecuseah tried to unite the tribes 3. Shawnee were defeated at The Battle of Tippicanoe 4. Big loss for Tecumseah
