“Safari & Beach” Itinerary : Tarangire / Lake Manyara / Lake Eyasi / Ngorongoro / Serengeti / Zanzibar (13 days/12 nights) Day 1 : Moshi / Arusha - Tarangire National Park This morning you will travel from Arusha to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is one of Tanzania's largest national parks and sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lion, leopard, cheetah and up to six thousand elephant. Overnight in Tarangire National Park Day 2 : Tarangire Today you have a full day to further explore Tarangire National Park. Overnight in Tarangire National Park Day 3 : Tarangire – Lake Manyara – Lake Eyasi This morning you can enjoy some time at the lodge before traveling to Lake Manyara National Park. Spend the afternoon on a game drive of this park, described as one of the hidden gems of Tanzania. This park is famous for its tree climbing lions and large herds of elephant (which are not shy to come straight up to the vehicle). After your game drive travel the short distance to Lake Eyasi. Day 4 : Lake Eyasi – Ngorongoro Lake Eyasi is home to the hunter-gathers ethnic group of the Hadzabe Bushmen (they bear similar characteristics to those of Bushmen at Southern Africa). This indigenous tribe are probably the last living in true harmony with nature and are well know for their communication via clicking rather than speech. You will enjoy hunting with them and experiencing their way of life. After lunch travel to Ngorongoro Crater Overnight on the rim of the crater. Day 5 : Ngorongoro Crater Today you will journey into the heart of this amazing, wonderous crater. Spend the full day within the crater floor. Ngorongoro is unique in that almost all the wildlife live within the crater walls hence you have the opportunity to find game easily. Rhino can be seen regularly as well as prides of lion and cheetah. Overnight on the rim of the crater Day 6 : Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti Begin your journey from Ngorongoro to Serengeti. On route you have the opportunity to stop at Olduvai Gorge (one of the most amazing archeological sites in the world). The Serengeti is home to millions of wildebeest during the migration and over the huge flat plains you are likely to find lion, cheetah, leopard, hyena and many other small predators. Overnight in Serengeti National Park Days 7 : Serengeti Today you have a full day to enjoy the Serengeti. This can be early morning and afternoon game drives or take lunch boxes for a full day game drive. Day 8 : Serengeti – Arusha – Zanzibar This morning you have the chance for one last early morning game drive before transfer to Seronera airstrip. Take a flight from Seronera to Arusha and then a connecting flight Arusha to Zanzibar. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your resort. Overnight Uroa Bay Beach Hotel (www.uroabay.com) Day 9/10/11/12 : Zanzibar Here you have 4 full days to enjoy this beautiful island paradise. Enjoy activities like snorkeling, visiting Stone Town, swimming with dolphins or relaxing on the beach. Your Zanzibar extension can be as active or relaxing as you like.
