I believe starting a career is based on education. Even if you are self educated or naturally talented when it comes down to the thing you want to do you still need that educational background that confirms you know what you are doing. Maybe there are skills in that you have yet to learn or different ways of doing it that can be beneficial or easier. For example I can draw, love to write and love playing video games. Using what I love to do and natural skills helped me to determine I want to do game design. However I have no idea how to create art digitally. I have no clue how to turn my 2D art into 3D designs that can actually be controlled by a controller. Therefore I have to go to college for game design or choose a major that covers the same skills. Going to college will be the way I can choose the career of a game designer, which i have choose as my main interest.
Planting the seed To me choosing a college that suits your preferred major is like planting a seed. From this seed your career will sprout and continue to grow. My preferred college that suits my major, game design, is Full Sail University. The total tuition and fees for this major in Full Sail is $59,520. That includes the equipment that I will need to complete my assignments and courses. I plan to get my bachelors in game design and during the course of receiving it I will be attempting to work with gaming companies for experience to reach my dream job of game designer for Epic Games.
Watch Me Grow Timeline Seed one and seed two represent me getting into Full Sail University. Seed three and four represent me finding a jobs and developing my résumé in the gaming world.
