Myth and the Hero’s Journey • Skills: In this course, students will develop advanced proficiencies in the areas of expository, analytical, research-based reading, writing, and speaking. • Content: explore the connections between ancient and modern ways of seeing oneself in the world
Every human culture has these! • Creation Myths • Seek to answer “Why am I here?” and “How did we get here?” • Fairy Tales • Seek to answer, “Now that I know how I got here, how am I supposed to behave with other people?” • The Hero’s Journey • Seeks to answer, “How do I make a meaningful life?”
