Step 4 – present standards A panel of Consortium members will present the performance standards to interested manufacturers at the 'Aid and Trade' event, to be held 29 - 30th January 2008 at PALEXPO, Geneva  With total transparency, manufacturers will be told of the plan to improve the quality and availability of emergency transitional family shelters Further presentations will be considered for similar events Overview Process steps Questions 8 - 10 APRIL 2008

  9. Step 5 –Pre-Qualifying Document The Pre-Qualifying Document will: Overview • ensure participating suppliers can provide appropriate quality • provide suppliers with project background • provide commercial sector with introduction to humanitarian operations Process steps Questions

  10. Step 6 – request prototype development Interested manufacturers will be asked to producea prototype that meets the standards, at no cost to Consortium members Overview Process steps Questions

  11. Step 7 – request prototype development Prototypes to be displayed for project members and at the Shelter Meeting Overview Process steps Questions

  12. Step 8 – identify leading designs The designs which bestrepresents the standards will be identified by Consortium members and the Shelter Meeting Overview Process steps Questions ü ü

  13. Step 9 – identify leading designs Shelter Centre will pay for prototypes of the identified most successful designs to be built for testing purposes Overview Process steps Questions

Step 10 – field test prototypes Shelter Centre will, in collaboration with interested project members, field test the prototypes in a variety of situations  The test methodology will be agreed by the project members Both the methodology and results will be posted upon the website Overview Process steps Questions www.sheltercentre.org

  15. Step 11 – publish Shelter Standards Conclusions gained from the testing will be integrated into the standards and indicators, which are to be published in 2009 Overview Process steps Questions to be published in 2009

Questions for the breakout group A longer introduction will be given to start each group.Then participants will be asked what they would like to discuss Overview Process steps Questions are there any requirements or details not included in the draft requirements that should be included? Will your organisation be attending trade events at which the draft standards may be presented to interested suppliers and manufacturers? Are you interested in field testing prototypes?
