Definition of Taboos • A taboo is a strong social prohibition (or ban) relating to any area of human activity or social custom that is sacred and/or forbidden based on moral judgment, religious beliefs and or scientific consensus.
Taboos Marriage • Brides and grooms are not encouraged to attend the funeral for three months before and after the marriage. • Furnishings in the marriage is not encouraged to use white, blue, black and green. • In the future bridal bedroom, beds, tables and cabinets should be placed in the normal position and not the corner of the room. • Even numbers are often used in weddings. According to Chinese belief, the marriage does not follow the protocol specified is an invalid marriage.
Chinese New Year • The Chinese believe that they can not sweep the house at the first festival day just because it can remove all gain or "ong" available. • In addition, the Chinese also believe that they will suffer if the dishes used on the day of the celebration was broken.
