Zeus Is the Captain of all Gods • Born in 1958 B.C. • He was born in cave on Mount Ida on the island of Crete • He was the youngest of five children • Father- Kenos • Mother- Juno ( Jupiter) • Wife Hera • Children- Ares, Athena, Hermes, Aphrodite, Apollo, and Artemis • Siblings- Poseidon, Hades, and Hestia • Zeus symbols are thunderbolt, eagle, oak Zeus was the top Olympian god in the Greek pantheon. After he took credit for rescuing his brothers and sisters from their father Coronus, Zeus became king of heaven and gave his brothers Poseidon and Hades the sea and the underworld for their domains. Zeus was the husband of Hera, but he had many affairs with other goddesses, mortal women, and female animals.
Hera is the goddess of marriage and birth She was born around the 24,000 BCE, when the human started to notice there were gods Her symbols are sceptre, diadem, peacock Her siblings are Diameter , Hades, Poseidon and Hestia These two aspects - her beauty and guile - may be in part attributed to her role on Olympus, for as the wife (and sister) of Zeus, she is the Queen of the Greek gods. As such, she is the patron of marriage for mortals and immortals alike.
Ares is the god of war Ares was born in a place far off Ares symbols are quadriga, brieck, and spear Ares was the Greek god of war, and according to mythology, war, battles, and bloodshed were his major preoccupations. In certain respects, there is not too much more to Ares than this connection to war, as he is portrayed as being somewhat one-dimensional.
A Titan god of the outer sea encircling the earth and the father of the Oceanides and the river gods. Oceanus' wife was Tethys, the nurse, who was probably thought to distribute his water to the earth via subterranean caverns. Their children were the Potamoi or River-Gods and Okeanides, nymphs of springs and fountains. Unlike his brother Titanes, Oceanus neither participated in the castration of Ouranos nor joined the battle against the younger Olympian gods. He was probably identical to Ophion, an elder Titan in the Orphic myths who ruled heaven briefly before being wrestled and cast into the Ocean stream by Kronos.
HESTIA was the virgin goddess of the hearth and the home. As the goddess of the family hearth she also presided over the cooking of bread and the preparation of the family meal. Hestia was also the goddess of the sacrificial flame and received a share of every sacrifice to the gods. The cooking of the communal feast of sacrificial meat was naturally a part of her domain. In myth Hestia was the first born child of Kronos and Rhea who was swallowed by her father at birth. Zeus later forced the old Titan to disgorge Hestia and her siblings. As the first to be swallowed she was also the last to be disgorged, and so was named as both the eldest and youngest of the six Kronides. When the gods Apollon and Poseidon sought for her hand in marriage, Hestia refused and asked Zeus to let her remain an eternal virgin. He agreed and she took her place at his royal hearth.
