  1. Peter Mara Northeastern Graduate Before Peter Mara became the Vice President and co-founder of Westerly Wind, a wind power finance firm, he first needed a proper education. He received just that when he attended the Northeastern University in 2004. There he earned a degree in Business Administration. He was also a member of the Finance and Investment Club as well, which helped him accumulate the financial experience he needed for Westerly Wind.

Peter Mara An Introduction to Renewable Energy Peter Mara is a finance specialist that has been working diligently in order to help find the capital necessary to complete large-scale wind energy projects. That is because he has taken a strong interest in renewable energy. While many have started to look to alternative energy methods as fossil fuels dwindle, some still aren’t sure what the distinction is between renewable energy and fossil fuels. Renewable energy is defined as energy that is collected from resources that replenish themselves without any human influences within what is called a “human timescale”. Peter Mara is dedicated to helping finance renewable energy projects.

Part of the reason he has done this is to help battle issues like global warming. While global warming is a phrase many are familiar with, some do not understand how a rising average temperature can affect the climate and weather. Global warming has occurred because of rising CO2 levels. While it is said that increased temperatures globally will mean fewer winter deaths, it is likely to increase the amount of summer deaths. Peter Mara and other renewable resource enthusiasts want to help spread awareness about global warming problems.

It is this ability that prompted him to become one of the founders of Westerly Wind, a wind power finance firm. Obtaining the capital to create a wind farm can be difficult. That is why professionals like Mr. Mara work closely with investors and other resources to obtain this capital.
