Modern Passenger Terminal with Efficient Flow Management

This project aims to improve the existing congestion and confusion at the passenger terminal by implementing separate flows for passenger and cargo transportation. The layout includes a fenced area to separate passenger and cargo flows, as well as a quay area with passenger flow prioritized. The passenger building is well-designed with various facilities and a large luggage hall and warehouse for convenience. The structure utilizes a space web frame system for natural ventilation and energy conservation. The surrounding area features different function parks for easy access. Similar projects designed by FHDI include the Passenger Waiting Hall of Yantai Southern Port and the Passengers Building of Gaoming Passenger Station in Foshan, Guangzhou.

  5. Brief introduction • This passenger building is located in the right of the gate. Its floor area is 13450 • square meters and the architectural area is 11690 square meters. • It has a single layer (part of two layers), 7 meters high .The passenger building is • consisted of departure hall、arrival hall、ticket hall、luggage warehouse, and • relative auxiliary functions (like assistant office, VIP lounge , duty-free shop and • so on ). • The most people passenger building designed to receive is 300 thousand per • year ,and the number of most gathering person is 500. • location • The departure hall is in the middle of the passenger terminal with a 3389 square • meters architectural area. 16 get out joint inspection lines have been set in it. • The arrival hall is on the right side of the passenger terminal with 2660 square • meters architectural area. 12 get in joint inspection lines have been set in it. • Assistant offices are set both sides of departure and arrival hall, supply • convenient service to both side passengers. • Around the courtyard garden, auxiliary functions rooms (like prayer house, • coffee bar and VIP lounge) will be set. This beautiful green view makes passengers • who through here and officers who work here feel natural and comfortable in this • building. Introduction 2-A

  6. Considered to the local habit that passengers use to take large luggage • aside, a reasonable bigger luggage hall and warehouse will be set on the • left side of the passenger terminal . Large luggage will be inspected in • this place, go to the warehouse, the transferred to the ship by special • truck. Which will give much convenience to those passengers who take • lager luggage to walk one kilometer to take boat. • Frame Structure • To satisfy the need of huge space of passenger terminal, space web frame structure system will be used. With it, natural ventilation and natural • light will be good in this building and the energy will be saved at the • same time. • Concerned the hot weather of Sudan, a open corridor will be set • surround the main structure. • This shielding constitution will shield building against sun and energy • conservation. Also, it will supply a dispersal place around. Introduction 2-B
