The 4 options • Option 1 – Direct Payment • Option 2 – person chooses the support and the local authority makes the arrangements on their behalf • Option 3 – the local authority selects and arranges the support on the persons behalf • Option 4 – mix of options 1, 2 and 3 for different aspects of the person’s support
Wider Implications • Empowering people via SDS will require significant redirection of resources • Providers need to identify and promote their place in the market and make themselves, their services, the prices they charge and the outcomes they can help deliver better known to the public.
