Class Expectations • Everyone has the right to learn and no person should inhibit the learning or teaching process. • Be respectful at all times, including respecting personal space and personal property. Be kind to others and treat everybody with dignity. • Cell phones or pagers that ring will be confiscated. Music players may be listened to only when permission is granted. • Food, drink and gum must be disposed of before entering the classroom (water is fine). • Use only positive language in the classroom.
Suggested Supplies • Lab Notebook (1 was provided) • Calendar/Agenda • Pencils, pens (blue and black ink), highlighters, erasers and storage pouch • Space in binder for handouts • $100 lab donation
Grading System Assignments (50%) • Lab Notebook/Write-ups: Each lab will be recorded in the student’s lab notebook. • Written/Oral Projects: Students will be asked to present on various topics through out the course. Assignments details will be given out for each presentation required. • Lab Service: Students will be required to assist with lab duties as assigned. • Reading Assignments: Students will be required to read assigned text and complete outlines of each chapter. Exams (50%) • Quizzes/Tests: Each day that a new lab will begin, students will be quizzed on the basic principles covered during that lab. Questions may be asked of previous labs as a means of reviewing. Tests on lab skills and concepts will also be given.

This is a very important event for the entire BioScience Academy. Parents of Cohort 9 need to attend if at all possible!
