EOD Mission • Responsible for identification, render safe, and disposal of hazardous unexploded conventional munitions, chemical munitions, and improvised devices in wartime and peace time. • Provide assistance to civilian and federal authorities when requested. • Provide EOD support to the Dept of State, Dept of Defense, and Secret Service for Presidential, Vice Presidential, and other VIP support. • Present classes on ordnance recognition, bomb search, bomb threat and reporting procedures to military, civilian, and federal authorities.

EOD QUALIFICATIONS • Must be a SGT (with less than 1 year TIG) or below • GM 104 / 105 (depending on test date) • Must be eligible for Top-Secret clearance • MUST have normal color vision • CANNOT be allergic to explosives • Physical Profile of at least 111121 • Have at least 2 years Active Duty • MUST successfully complete interview process • Volunteer for the EOD program • Poses a valid drivers license

  15. APPLICATIONPROCESS • Receive an EOD briefing • Receive an EOD interview and records review • MOPP & BOMB suit test • Sign an EOD volunteer statement • Initiate security clearance check • Initiate DA4187 requesting EOD • Conduct 90 days OJT when possible
