What is forensics? • Forensics are scientific tests or techniques used in the investigation of crimes. • This also may be in relation to a crime or a civil action offense.
What skills are required? • A forensic scientist usually has a degree in mathematics or one of the sciences, or sometimes both. • You also need a doctorate degree in any of the 3 courses: clinical psychology, forensic psychology or counseling.
What duties are performed? • You examine, test, and analyze edvience,i.e. tissue samples, chemical substances, physical materials, and ballistics evidence, using recording, measuring, and testing equipment; • You also Interpret findings and test results • In addition you collect and preserve criminal evidence used to solve cases; • This is includes ballistics, • Sometimes you may have to reconstruct the crime scene • You even have to prepare reports or presentations of findings, investigative methods, or laboratory techniques; • In extreme cases you may even have to testify as expert witness on evidence or laboratory techniques in trials or hearings
What education or training I required? • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in natural science or forensic science • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in natural science or forensic science • You also need a masters degree in forensic science
when called to a crime scene, what are the responsibilities of a forensic professional? • You are responsible to collect evidence in crime scene • You need to test/analyze findings to connect to the crime scene • Sometimes you may even need to identify the type of crime i.e. homicide, suicide, ext.
How does an engineer contribute to the world of forensics? • An engineer can contribute to the world of forensic science by determining how accidents occurred or how a device in the lab or in a crime scene failed. Sometimes they even create machines to help with crucial parts to a crime scene. Such as a blast machine, or a ballistics machine.

How does an engineer work with forensic scientists and forensic technicians? • Engineers are often called into forensic investigations to explain when something doesn't go as predicted. • An will examine all the evidence and attempt to discover the cause of accident. • Forensic scientist analyze the evidence
