The Calgary Context • Best Friends™ Approach Training program helped Alzheimer Calgary launch the Dementia Care Training Centre • linked to provincial health care aide training initiative and Supportive Living environments • province wide staff training on a variety of dementia related topics • launch of online learning for families

Opportunities for the Future • In 2011 DCTC will be taking Best Friends training beyond our experiential learning environment in the traditional classroom • we will launch a comprehensive training and skill development initiative with a local post-secondary facility • Dementia Basics Online pre-training orientation • Best Friends Approach Workshop • Skill development at Club 36 Adult Day Support Program
