  1. The objective of the workshop: The purpose of the workshop is to increase the interaction between Norwegian global change research ad the international global change programmes and IIASA. Issues to be addressed in the group sessions: Why should the Norwegian research community improve its links with the international Global change programmes and IIASA? How and where can Norwegian researchers be involved with the Global change programmes and take part in their strategic and operational activities? What initiatives could the Research Council pursue in order to strengthen the links between Norwegian Global change research and the Global change programmes? Give examples of successful Norwegian participation in Global change programmes or IIASA. What were the critical successfactors?
