Which profile? Three competence profiles: • Research & Development (R&D) • Design & Construction (D&C) • Organisation & Management (O&M) Main questions: • What are my strengths and weaknesses? • What kind of work do a like? • What kind of working environment do I like?
Answers to the three questions What are my strengths and weaknesses? • Reflection about roles and tasks in the project groups; relative scores on exams… What kind of work do I like? To know, to invent, to realise, to organise What kind of working environment do I like? Monthly presentations by alumni….
Functions • 30% research and development • 30% design and construction • 15% coordination, management • 10% production • 10% advisory, policy making • 5% miscellaneous 100% about 1,5 years after graduation
specialisation Interested in sub discipline or application field Sub disciplines such as: mechanics, fluid dynamics, thermal engineering, biomechanics, material science, surface technology, automation, production and manufacturing……..… or Applications in:acoustics, combustion, light weight constructions, revalidation, laser technology, product development …….
Individual programme Breadth for every master student: • Profile courses beyond specialisation • Minimal one course of second profile Depth: participate in and contribute to state of the art developments • You must specialise • Advanced courses within specialisation • Graduation project within specialisation Approval of individual programme

Restriction O&M N.B.: The profiles R&D and D&C can be combined with all specialisations. The profile O&M is under construction. The programme is worked out for the specialisations within departments OPM and ThW, while for other specialisations individual arrangements has to be made.
Combine BSc and MSc? During one course year bachelor students are allowed to participate in master courses, provided: • P-diploma • ≥130 EC from the major programme • required entrance level for the subject
