Overview • Time Frame • 1 Quarter (9 weeks) • 4 days a week • 40 minute period • Class of 2010 • 16 students each • 2 classes, 2 quarters
Week 1 – Days 1 - 3 • Orientation & Equipment • Survey of skills • Class and concept defined • Cameras - steady cam & tripod mounted • Basic operation and set up • Framing, Moving, and Zooming in & out • Brainstorming for content
Week 1 – Day 4 • Shoot 1 for Fun • On-set Hierarchy and Jobs • Director • Cinematographer • Sound Tech • Stage Manager • Talent
Week 2 – Days 1 - 3 • Daily Shoots • Goal - 3 or more successful clips • Implement brainstormed bits and ideas • Assemble talent and crew • Pick locations that work • Let them be them
Week 2 – Day 4 • Hands-on Editing with Partners • Mentor walks & talks them through on big screen • Adding clips to timeline • Reviewing and making cuts • Copying and Inserting • Time stretch and reverse • Adding and editing effects • BTW- the rest of the class watches the screen
Week 3 – Days 1 - 4 • 1 day shoot • 3 days editing • Rough cuts due • Review all content to date
Weeks 4 – 9 • Continue shooting and editing • Assemble rough cuts into single movie • Upload to web as .wmv and .mov • .wmv streams • .mov is downloadable for import to iPod, iPhone • Post on YouTube channel
