The 5-step process to conjugate verbs and translate ANYTHING into French!
je = I tu = you il = he elle = she on = we nous =we vous =all of you (or you formal) ils = they (boys or boys&girls) elles = they (girls) Have you noticed… ? There are two ways to say “we” in French! What are they? “On” and “nous”. FIRST OF ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ALL THE PERSONAL PRONOUNS
je I tu you il / elle / on he / she / we nous we vous all of you ils /elles they (boys)/they (girls) Notice how “il/elle/ on” are together now. Also ils/elles are together… Why? Because they will share a verb ending! You’ll see… Look at those pronouns again!!!

NOW YOU NEED TO KNOW WHAT VERB ENDING GOES WITH EACH PRONOUN: LOOK OUT FOR THIS… !!! There is only one ending for “il/elle/on” -E !!! There is only one ending for “ils/elles” -ENT !!! • je -e • tu -es • il / elle / on -e • nous -ons • vous -ez • ils /elles -ent
How to translate a verb into French:JUST FOLLOW A SIMPLE 5-STEP PROCESS
Imagine you want to say “I play” in French… I… ? Step 1: How do you say “I” in French?
That’s right… “I” is “je” Je I = je
We are trying to say “I PLAY”, so we need to translate the VERB into French… “to play” in French is… Step 2: How do you say “to play” in French?
That’s right… “jouer” is “to play” !!! jouer = to play jouer au foot to play football jouer au tennis to play tennis
` Step 3: Remember to take off the –ER ending from the verb… This is very important !!!! “Jouer” becomes JOU-
Now you need to know what ending goes with the pronoun you are using. Je jou___ Step 4: What is the ending for the pronoun I am using (in this case, “je”)?
Now you need to put everything together: JE Step 1: How do you say “I” in French? Step 2: How do you say “to play” in French? Step 3: Remember to take off the –ER ending from the verb… Step 4: What is the ending for the pronoun I am using (in this case, “je”)? Step 5: And now put everything together! JOUER JOU E JE JOUE
