Production sound • Records all the sound on set, they insure that the sound recorded on set is clear and can be understood. • Records sounds before the shoot and then places the recorded sound over the action. Which is Synchronous sound. • Boom operators are responsible for placing microphones in certain places. • Sound assistants check all the equipment before it is used. • CorrinEllingford is the Boom operator from The Hobbit.

  3. Editing and post-production • The editors edit the films shots, it involves picture editing, sound editing and music editing. • They add colours, brightness, lighting and title designs for the film. • The editors also add synchronized sounds like footsteps and special effects. In The Hobbit, the editors make the hobbits appear small.

  4. Distribution • Distribution involves putting the film on the market place and sustaining it there. It used posters, trailers and social networks to get the film to its audience. • As every new title is distinctive and different, Distributors must be strategic and knowledgeable about promotion and publicity in order to entice audiences to see their films, created in collaboration with film production and/or studio company personnel, marketing teams, publicity departments and exhibitors.
