Purpose of Trip • To arrange collaborative research with atmospheric scientists at Tel Aviv University on the physical processes that drive extreme precipitation events in Israel • To give a seminar at the Workshop on Bird Migration and Flight Safety at Tel Aviv University, and to arrange collaborative research on the development of a bird migration forecast model. (Probabilistic 2-7 day bird migration forecasts with application to bird strikes, i.e., collisions between birds and aircraft) • Three days of birding in northern Israel (with guides from the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel)
